Jill's Letter

Harvest season is upon us and, on September 13th, we shall have celebrated the harvest of the land, industry and the product of all the work we do for those around us.   On October 11th we shall also, as usual, celebrate the Harvest of the Sea.   Unfortunately, this year, it will be a shortened version of our usual service and singing will be provided, on disc, by our own male voice choir.   We shall not be able to sing along with our favourite hymns either.   We are hoping that Helen Lovell of the Fishermen's Mission, Brixham, will be coming to give a short address.   We would love to see you but be aware that numbers are strictly limited still and it will be 'first come, first served!'

Let me finish as has now become usual with another lovely prayer, this time from Hildegard of Bingen:

"Holy Spirit, giving life to all life, moving all creatures, root of all things, washing them clean, wiping out their mistakes, healing their wounds;  you are our true life, luminous, wonderful, awakening the heart from its ancient sleep."

God bless the Harvest..God bless us all.

We continue to open the church every Tuesday morning from ten to twelve for private prayer and hold our usual services, including Communion, on the second and fourth Sundays of each month at ten-thirty.   Everyone welcome.   J.M.
