The scaffolding should soon be down and, as we go to press, the top part of the gable wall of the Manse, which has been re-rendered in traditional lime mortar, is ready to be painted. We are hoping that it will be possible to leave the stonework at the base of the wall exposed and pointed up to complement the wall which runs along the Garretts: all in the name of renovation!
The beautiful 'collage' of fish, put together by Claire and her Beach Clean team, is currently on the stage in the hall and in need of extensive repair but, hopefully, will be able to be displayed again. It has been much admired by all and is a reminder that we must be more aware of the damage caused to life and the environment by careless disposal of rubbish.
