With all the talk about the Coronavirus I am reminded of another 'plague', the 'Black Death' which hit this and many other countries centuries ago.   Whilst we are by no means facing the same severity nor mortality communities faced then, we must still take sensible precautions to stop the spread of the virus.   During the plague a small country village suffered its first victim and bravely decided to self-isolate the whole village in order to stop the spread as far as they could; no-one entered nor left the village whilst the plague was raging.   Their self-sacrifice -losing a very high proportion of their community - undoubtedly saved many lives elsewhere.   We, as responsible members of our own community, must have the same attitude towards our neighbours and continue to both help practically and pray for those around us.   Keep washing those hands!
