Statement of Commitment minuted 23rd May 2001
We are committed to building a future for Cawsand Congregational Church based on traditional community values, which welcome equal opportunity and mutual encouragement for sharing belief in Christianity through our worship and work.
After we were able to celebrate Advent and Christmas morning in church came the dire warnings associated with the new lockdown and the danger of meeting together and spreading the virus, especially this new variant. We would be able to keep the church open if we felt that it was totally Covid-secure but have, regrettably, had to take the decision to close for the time being to protect everyone who would normally be using the church. We shall re-open just as soon as it is sensible but, in the meantime, look after yourselves and keep washing those hands...and praying.
Since David and Allyson are closing the shop until March for refurbishments we are having to find another location for the Food Bank bin. If anyone has any bright ideas...please let me know. J.M.
An encouraging thought for the New Year:
'I said to the man who stood at the gate of the year: give me a light that I might tread safely into the unknown. And he replied: Go into the darkness and put your hand into the hand of God. That shall be to you better than light and safer than a known way'
All our best wishes to all for a better and healthier New Year.

We continue to open the church every Tuesday morning from ten to twelve for private prayer and hold our usual services, including Communion, on the second and fourth Sundays of each month at ten-thirty. Everyone welcome. J.M.
